For the second time I have been irked buying parts at Pelican Parts (http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/index-SC.htm). The first time I was doing my COP upgrade on the z3 and wanted some new Bremi coil packs. I went to pelican, ordered what said “BREMI” and got some knockoff brand that wasn’t bremi. Fast forward to last week, I notice the alternator is not charging my battery. This week I start looking online for a replacement and see other vendors (advanced auto parts, etc) with various different brands that were not Bosch. I went to Pelican Parts and specifically ordered from them because it said it was BOSCH. Yesterday the alternator arrived in a Bosch box but the alternator is Valeo branded casing, and plastic cover. Of course Pelican Parts can do nothing about this, and certainly will not change their inventory data to properly reflect the true purchase. It seems that Pelican Parts preys on the fact that I do not want to waste more time trying to order again, and thus now I have almost $600 in BMW parts from Pelican that I specifically did not want vs true OEM BMW Branded parts.
